Commercial Irrigation Systems

A commercial landscape without irrigation is a liability. Turf goes brown by mid-July. Foundation plantings stress and decline. Seasonal color dries out a week after installation. And every dollar invested in landscaping, hardscaping, and property improvements starts to look like money wasted — because no one sees a well-designed landscape when everything on it is dying.

Tepe Landscape & Design Group designs, installs, and maintains commercial irrigation systems across Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Indiana. We’ve been building irrigation systems for over four decades — and because we’re the same company that designs and installs the landscape itself, every system we build is engineered to match the specific plantings, soil conditions, sun exposure, and grade of your property. Not a generic layout. Not a template. A system designed for the way water actually moves on your site.

An irrigation system is only as good as the service behind it. Heads get knocked out of alignment by mowing equipment. Controllers lose programming after power outages. And in Cincinnati, seasonal transitions require hands-on attention to protect the system and keep it performing.

Commercial Irrigation Design

Our design process accounts for every factor that affects how water reaches your landscape.

  • Zone design Different parts of a commercial property have different water needs. Turf areas need high-volume rotary heads on wider spacing.
  • Head selection and spacing Every sprinkler head is selected for the application — rotary heads for large turf areas, spray heads for narrow beds and tight spaces, drip irrigation for foundation plantings, tree bubblers for root zone delivery.
  • Controller and smart technology We install programmable controllers with weather-based adjustment capability, rain sensors, and soil moisture monitoring where appropriate. Smart controllers adjust watering schedules automatically based on real-time weather data.
  • Backflow prevention Every commercial irrigation system requires a backflow prevention device to protect the potable water supply.

Year-Round Service and Maintenance

An irrigation system is only as good as the service behind it. Heads get knocked out of alignment by mowing equipment. Valves develop slow leaks. Controllers lose programming after power outages. And in Cincinnati, seasonal transitions require hands-on attention to protect the system and keep it performing.

Spring Activation

Systems are brought online after the last hard freeze — typically mid-to-late April in the Cincinnati area. We open the main supply, pressurize the system gradually to avoid water hammer, test each zone, inspect all heads and valves, adjust programming for spring watering schedules, and verify backflow preventer operation.

In-Season Monitoring and Repair

Throughout the watering season, we respond to service calls for broken heads, valve failures, pipe leaks, controller issues, and coverage problems. Our service technicians carry common replacement parts and can resolve most issues in a single visit. For properties on maintenance agreements, we perform mid-season inspections to catch problems before they cause landscape damage.
Fall Winterization

Before the first freeze — typically late October to mid-November — we blow compressed air through every zone to evacuate standing water from pipes, heads, and valves. Proper winterization prevents freeze damage that can crack pipes, shatter fittings, and destroy valve internals. We’ve seen systems that weren’t winterized require thousands of dollars in spring repairs. A winterization visit costs a fraction of that.

Backflow Testing

Annual backflow testing is required by most local water authorities in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. We perform testing, submit certification paperwork, and handle any required repairs or replacements to keep your system in compliance.

System Upgrades

Technology changes. Properties change. What worked five years ago may not be efficient today. We retrofit existing systems with smart controllers, high-efficiency nozzles, drip conversion kits, and additional zones to accommodate landscape expansions or renovations. If your current system was installed by another company, we service and upgrade all major brands — Hunter, Rain Bird, and Toro.
